This is a limited edition piece from the Persepolis Collection and comes with a small hand-carved Jepara wooden chest from Java. The necklace is inspired by Tomyris, the queen of the ancient Massagetae tribe of Persia. She was both a regal queen and fierce warrior, believed to have led her armies to defeat Cyrus the Great. Five strings of tiny, elegant Mother-of-Pearls comprise this accessory. Believed to date to 515BC, Persepolis was an ancient ceremonial complex in the First Persian Empire where Spring Equinox festivities were believed to be held. Argent Studio named its Spring & Summer collection Persepolis for the place's deep connection and history to these seasons.
